Mark Michael Miller, age 74, of Superior, died Tuesday October 13, 2026, in his residence with his wife Mary Ann by his side.
Mark was born on June 29, 1952, to Patricia P. (Bangs) and William T. Miller in Superior. He was a 1971 graduate of Superior Senior High School and went on to receive his bachelor’s degree in business from UWS. Mark would marry Mary Ann Sodnik on December 6, 1980, in Duluth, MN. Mark displayed his creative business skills through his work career. In the 1970’s, Mark was owner/operator of My Place, a plant and gift shop on Belknap Street. He was a shipping/receiving clerk at Twin Ports Bible and Book, an art teacher at Lakeview Christian Academy, and a special education paraprofessional for the Duluth Public Schools. He was a unit manager at St. Mary’s Hospital, Duluth, during the development of their cardiac surgery program and later returned to Essentia to become the first environmental services supervisor at the new First Street Clinic building.
Mark was a gentle, tender-hearted man with a quirky sense of humor and a quiet faith. He loved to “putter around” in the garden, garage, and basement, keeping busy with home maintenance projects, woodworking, and art projects in various mediums. Mark enjoyed baking, gardening and meeting his buddies for coffee or lunch dates. He treasured time with his family, especially his grandkids.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his twin infant brothers, Michael and Patrick.
Mark is lovingly survived by his wife, Mary Ann; daughter, Andrea (Max Mileski) Miller of Minneapolis, MN; his grandchildren Kellen and Brynn Smith; his brother William (Anita) Miller of Racine, WI; brother-in-law, Marion (Wendy) Sodnik; his sister-in-law, Linnea Sodnik; also, by nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
The family is deeply grateful for the skilled and compassionate care Mark received from staff at Essentia Health Duluth’s Oncology, Radiation Oncology, Palliative Care, and Hospice programs.
If desired, memorials may be made to the Ruth House in Superior.
A celebration of life will be held Sunday, November 8, 2026, from 1:00 – 3:00 pm at Downs Life Celebration Center, 1902 N. 34th St., Superior, WI.
