Mark J. 'Swami' Swanson, Sr., passed away on Wednesday, October 15, 2025, at the age of 71.  Mark was born on February 17, 1954, to Harry and Huberta Swanson of Superior, Wisconsin.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Bret Swanson of Superior; and his best friend, Jade.

Swami is survived by his son, Mark James 'Jim' Swanson, Jr., of Gordon, WI; grandson, Dylan James Swanson of Gordon; ex-wife, Sandy Swanson Podgorak of Gordon; siblings, Sherry (Clarence) Mattson of Superior, Sandy Johnson of Superior, Kevin (Sue) Swanson of Foxboro, and many nieces and nephews.

Swami retired from ADM Grain Elevator and moved to Florida where he worked on refurbishing yachts and sailboats before he moved back to Superior and Gordon.  He was a master cabinet maker, enjoyed skydiving, and spending time with his friends.  Before he gave Dylan his gifts, he always played with them first.  He and Jade had an irreplaceable bond; they were inseparable.

Swami lived his way and now he is back flying with Jade.  He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
