Martin K. Uotinen, 87, of Superior, died Tuesday, May 17, 2016, at St. Luke's Hospice, Duluth.
He was born June 28, 1928 in Oulu, Wisconsin.
Martin was honorably discharged from the U.S. Army.
On February 9, 1957, Martin K. Uotinen and Theresa M. Wnek were united in marriage.
Martin's work history included Burlington Northern Railroad, Midland Cooperative and retired in 1991 as a foreman with King Midas Flour Mill.
He was a member of the Superior Moose Lodge Family Center and the American Legion.
Some of his interests included gardening, fishing, hunting, playing cards, puzzles, dancing with Theresa to "The Duals", bus trips to Nashville, watching his sons race and he loved being with family.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his wife of nearly 60 years, Theresa; sons, Robert (Twila) Uotinen, Town of Oakland, Wis., Allen (Brenda) Uotinen, Superior, and Fred Uotinen, South Range; grandchildren, Lindze, Ryan, Joshua, Alyssa and Brady; and 6 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 10 until the 11 a.m. service Monday, May 23, 2016 at the Downs Funeral Home, 1617 N. 19th Street, Superior, with Reverend Patrick Giles officiating.
Committal prayers will be at Greenwood Cemetery, Superior, with military honors accorded by the Richard I. Bong American Legion Post 435.
Following the cemetery service, a luncheon will be served at the Superior Moose Lodge Family Center.
