Marvin Gene Hoyt, 73, of South Range, passed away on July 20, 2016 at St. Luke's Hospital after a brief illness with his family at his bedside.
Marv was born in Superior on Dec. 29, 1942 the son of Elmer and Edith Hoyt.
Marv was employed by the US Forest Service and after many years of service with J.R. Jensen he retired in 2001. Marv was a great mechanic and could fix anything.
He was an avid race car fan. He also loved hunting, fishing, trapshooting and reading.
Marv was preceded in death by his wife Ruth in 2014; his parents; mother and father-in-law Emma & Lloyd Hepburn; two brothers, Buddy and Leonard Hoyt; and a grandson, Zachery Ford.
Marv is survived his children, Michelle (John) Manner of Florida, David (Zoe) Hoyt of California and Scott (Kate) Hoyt of Superior; sisters, Lillie Olson and Stella Adolphson; brothers-in-law, Lloyd, Ronald (Kathy), and Dean Hepburn; sister-in-law, Jean (Harvey) Corbin; four grandchildren, Brandon Ford, Anika, Zoe and Felisity Hoyt; and many nieces and nephews.
At Marvin's request there will be no services.
If desired, memorials in Marvin's name may be made to the Salvation Army.
