Marvin F. Wermter, 82, passed away Tuesday, May 14, 2013 at Essentia-St. Mary' s Medical Center in Duluth.
The son of Frank Robert Wermter and Ida Louis (Bauer) Wermter, he was born May 11, 1931 in Wentworth, Wis. On February 22, 1958 he married Patricia Ann Smith at Christ Lutheran Church in Superior.
Marvin worked for the Great Northern Railroad in Superior for many years retiring in 1997. He loved farming. He had a dairy and beef farm in south Range that he took over from his father. He loved the outdoors and loved hunting.
He is survived by his wife, Pat (Patricia) Wermter; three daughters, Bonnie (Bonita) Fudally of South Range, Annie Taylor of Lake Nebagamon, Wis. and Tina Jenson of Hawthorne, Wis.; a son-in-law, Donald Pattee of South Range; 18 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and two on the way. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Merri Pat (Wermter) Pattee; his parents; and a sister, Aleda (Wermter) Saari.
A private burial will take place at Greenwood Cemetery in Superior.
Downs Funeral Home, corner of 19th St. and Ogden Ave., is assisting the family with arrangements.
