Mary A. Benson, 79, of Superior, WI passed away on Wednesday, October 1, 2025 at Essentia St. Mary's Medical Center in Duluth, MN.

Mary was born July 15, 1946 in Superior, WI to Mary (Sovich) and Anthony Ernst.

She was primarily a homemaker and the bookkeeper for Benson Cabinets for many years.  Mary enjoyed spending time with her family at the cabin, catching crawfish, and sitting around the campfire.

She will be remembered for playing pranks on her family and friends.  Mary was passionate about her kids, grandkids, and great grandkids, she loved every minute of time she had with them.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Archie; her sister, Katie Gunderson; her brother, John and her brother in-laws, Jim, and Dwayne.

Mary is survived by her son, Bill (Linda) Benson; her daughters, Kathy (Kelly) Levine and Karey Strong; her grandchildren, Billy and Tyler Benson, Nicole (Pat Peterson) Levine, Kasey (Tony) Bye, Taylor Southerton, and Michael Strong; her great grandchildren, Bradley and Emma Peterson, Autumn, Willow and Rainey Bye, James, Reese, Archie and Hazel; her sisters, Theresa Mattson, Alice Robertson, and Aggie (Gordy) Jensen; her brother, Tony (Carol) Ernst, Jr.; her sister in-law, Carol Black, and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, December 6, 2025 from 11a.m-3 p.m. at the Log Cabin Tavern, 2821 County Road E., South Range, WI.
