Mary A. Johnson's Obituary
Mary A. Johnson, 91, of South Range, died Thursday, March 28, 2013 at Essentia Health-St. Mary's Superior.
She was born December 8, 1921 in Superior, daughter of Eustace and Marcella (Kulminski) Markon.
Mary proudly served her country with the U.S. Army nursing corps during WWII, and one of the locations she served was in Burma.
As a registered nurse, Mary worked many years in various Superior hospitals. She also worked as a nurse anesthetist.
Some of her other interests included gardening, reading and crossword puzzles.
Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Richard in 1992; brothers, Joseph, Walter, Eustace and Edward Markon; and sister, Veronica Wuethrich.
Survivors include her daughters, Jennifer (Ian Greenwood) Johnson, Mexico, and Laura J. Johnson, South Range; sister, Helen St. Onge, Superior; brother, Anthony Markon, Green Bay, WI; and several nieces and nephews.
As per family request, there will be no funeral service.
The Downs Funeral Home, 1617 N. 19th Street, Superior, is assisting the family with arrangements.
