Obituary

Mary Ann (Moretto) Johnson, 60, a lifelong resident of Superior, Wis. passed away in the loving arms of Jesus on June 2, 2011 surrounded by her loving family at the Solvay Hospice House after a courageous ten year battle with breast cancer.

Mary was born in Superior on Feb. 9, 1951, the daughter of Theresa (LeMay) and Teto Moretto.

Mary was the oldest of eleven children. She had a passion and love for life, the Lord, church, her husband and family. She especially treasured her time with her grandchildren.

Mary enjoyed the times she had camping, gardening, decorating, and crafting/sewing with her sister Cecilia. Mary believed in dreams, beauty, angels and the power of prayers.

She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. We will always have her in our hearts and prayers, until we see her again.

Mary was preceded in death by her father and brother Jerry Moretto.

She is survived by her loving husband, Jeff; her mother, Theresa; two sons Brian (Rilla) Johnson of Stillwater, Okla. and Joe (Wendy) Johnson of Blaine, Minn.; four grandchildren, Tyler, Cody, Alex and Samantha; her brothers and sisters, Mike (Joan) Moretto of Superior, Wis., Cecilia Moretto Mathison of Solon Springs, Wis., Judy Moretto of Ramsey, Minn., Joanne (Dave) Dietrich of Hanover, Minn., Leo (Lisa) Moretto of Apple Valley, Minn., Gloria (Elden) Bott of Edina, Minn., Debbie (Jack) Morrissey of Eden Prairie, Minn., John (Andrea) Moretto of Blaine, Minn., and Donnie (Angie) Moretto of Eau Claire, Wis., and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. and continue until the 11:00 a.m. Memorial Mass on Tues. June 7, at St. Anthony's Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. Don Kania as celebrant. Inurnment will be in Calvary Cemetery.

Downs Funeral Home, corner of 19th and Ogden Ave., is assisting the family with arrangements.
