Mary Kathryn Lee, 63, died unexpectedly on Wednesday April 30, 2025, at her residence.

Mary was born May 11, 1961, in Duluth, MN to Harriet (Grothe) and John Oland.

She graduated from Hermantown High School (1979) and attended Vocational Technical School in Duluth. Mary was employed as a home health administrator at St. Mary's Medical Center for 25 years and was currently working at United Health Care for the last 13 years.

She was a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church and was a former member of the church choir.

In her younger years, Mary was a particularly good oil painter and had her paintings decorating the walls of her home.

Spending time with her family was the most important pastime for Mary. This included Saturday nights watching movies with her sister, travelling to her brother in Tennessee, regular visits with her children and her brothers, and always being just a phone call away. Mary could not get enough of her grandson and her granddog and was a very proud grandma. She looked forward to taking many "drives" with her daughter and other family members up the north shore of Lake Superior.

Mary will be remembered for her kind heart, generosity, and for the endless and selfless love she had for her family. The countless hours she spent in deep conversation with her children will always be treasured.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Michael Oland.

Mary is survived by her children, Ben (Cassie Chruscielski) Lee and Anna (Antoine Coquiard) Lee; her grandson, Noah Coquiard; her brother, John (Cheryl) Oland and sister, Gail Reimer; numerous beloved nieces and nephews and her former husband, Peter Lee.

Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday, May 8, 2025, at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, 2410 Morris Thomas Rd., Duluth, MN. Fr. Anthony Craig will be officiating. Interment will be in Bethany Cemetery following the service.
