Mary L.
Ward
December 13, 1949 – February 10, 2026
Mary Linda Ward, 76 of Superior died Tuesday February 10th, 2026. She passed away peacefully surrounded by her family.
Mary was born December 13, 1949 in Superior, daughter of Elizabeth (Booth) and James Sheahan.
She graduated from Superior Senior High School and continued with schooling to obtain her Bachelor's in counseling and Master's in psychology both at UWS.
Mary was one of the most compassionate and patient people you could ever meet. She always made time for others, even when it meant putting herself last. She left a lasting impression on everyone she encountered, and this world is truly a better place because of her.
Mary cherished time spent with family and friends. Her children and grandchildren were her pride and joy, and nothing brought her greater happiness than being surrounded by them. She had a deep love for exploring spiritual interests, including astrology, horoscopes, readings, stones, and crystals. Mary also enjoyed singing karaoke, dancing, and embracing life's simple joys.
She especially looked forward to the summer months, when she would head south to her daughter's camper in Bloomer — a place filled with laughter, warmth, and treasured memories. Mary also had a special love for jellybeans, a sweet tradition she happily passed down to her grandchildren.
She will be forever missed, but her love, spirit, and the memories she created will never be forgotten.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, and her brother, Danny Sheahan.
Survivors include her children, Rachael (Ted) Buss, Madison WI, Jerry Bartlett, Duluth MN, Amy (Paul) Tomczak, Chippewa Falls WI; grandchildren, Megan, Chelsea, Dylan (Alecia), Lexi, Paige, Marcus; four great-grandchildren, Kya, Maverick, Alaina, and Amara; sisters, Jeanne (Paul) Patterson, Kathy (Mark) Sheahan, Sandy (Don) Sheahan; brothers, Jimmy (Viki), Tommy and fiancé Maury Beckwell.
We would like to give a special thank you to Aspirus St. Luke's and St. Croix hospice for the excellent compassion and care they provided.
