Obituary

Mary Lou Wood, 77, of the Town of Hawthorne, Wis. died Wed., May 13, 2015 at Middle River Health & Rehab. Center.

She was born July 10, 1937 to Alice (Shuur) and Francis Fullerton in Maple Grove Township, Wis. and moved to Barron, Wis. with her family when she was a small child. Then for the majority of her life the family resided in Superior, Wis., and Mary Lou had attended Central High School.

Mary Lou loved to garden, can the "fruits of her labor", cook, and bake. She had an extremely great passion for shopping. Her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were the most important part to her life.

She is lovingly remembered by her two daughters, Jayne (Paul) Smetana of Foxboro, Wis. and Carol (Mike) LeBard of Superior; a son, Ron Wood of Superior; four grandchildren, Candice (Todd) Webber, Marybeth and Samantha Smetana, and Bryce Maeder; five great-grandchildren, Isabella, Lillianna, Hudson, Bristol, and Abby; two sisters, Jean Grulke of Cottonwood, Ariz. and Delores (Chuck) Frank of Prescott, Ariz.; a brother, Bill (Viola) Fullerton of Tahlequah, Okla.; and many other extended family members.

Preceding her in death were her parents; an infant son, Thomas; her husband, Edwin; a sister, Leona Gunderson; and a brother, Jim Fullerton.

Mary Lou's family would like to express their appreciation to the Middle River staff and St. Luke's Hospice team for the wonderful care and concern that they had shown their Mother and also to the family.

Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until her 2:00 p.m. memorial service in Downs Funeral Home, corner of Ogden Ave. & 19th St., on Mon., May 18th. Rev. Steve Kelleher will officiate.
