Matthew R. Schoen, 13, of Superior, died on June 7, 2021, at home due to ongoing health conditions.

Matthew was born on December 20, 2007. He was a happy boy that loved his family and friends of all ages. He loved going on outings with his family, he loved music and books, and he played baseball with the Twin Ports Miracle League. He even loved going to the doctor.

Matthew will be sadly missed by all who knew him, his family pets, but mostly by his mom who absolutely adored him. He was taken far too soon.

He was preceded in death by Bambi, Papa, and Grandpa Schoen. He never got to meet them, but they will watch over him in Heaven.

Matthew is survived by his mom, Kelly Schoen; brothers, Randy Wheeler and Braxton Schoen; sisters, Sha'Myia and Nevaeh Schoen all of Superior; grandparents, Randy and Tami Schoen of Lake City, MN; aunt, Ginger (John) Olson of Eau Claire, WI; uncle, Blake (Carly) Brommer of Alma, WI; bonus family members, Troy Stokes and Dani Able; his favorite respite provider Dani Rhinehart; countless cousins, friends and bonus siblings; and his dogs, goats, and chickens.

Mom would like to thank all those who have helped make Matthew's life fulfilling and wonderful.

Visitation will be held at Downs Funeral Home, 1617 N 19 ^th Street in Superior, on Tuesday, June 15 ^th from 4-6 pm. A 5:30 prayer service will be held by Reverend Father Andrew Ricci.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Superior Public Library or the Duluth Children's Museum.
