Max A. Kasper, 44, of Duluth, died Sunday April 19, 2020 at his residence.

Max was born in Chicago on Jan. 5, 1976 the son of Kathleen 'Bushel' (Smith) and William Kasper. He was a member of Lac du Flambeau band of Lake Superior Chippewa.

He had worked as a cook in various restaurants in the area. He loved playing cards and cribbage and enjoyed fishing, playing pool, and listening to old country music. Most important to him was spending time with his daughter, Lilly.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Jesse.

Max is survived by his daughter, Lilly Marie Rask-Kasper; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

A Celebration of Max's Life will be held on Friday June 19th from 1:00-2:00 p.m. at Downs Funeral Home, 1617 N 19th St. Burial will follow in Nemadji Cemetery with a Native American Burial Ceremony.
