Melvin Johnson, 94, of Superior, died Sunday, August 21, 2022, at Essentia St. Mary's Hospital in Duluth.

Melvin was born in Brule, WI on February 9, 1928, the son of Charles and Irene Johnson.

He was an avid football fan, enjoyed deer hunting, and was an avid reader, especially history books and books on all wars. He loved spending time at his cabin in Brule. Most important to him was his family, especially his kids, and spending time with his wonderful wife.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his eight siblings.

Melvin is survived by his wife of 58 years, Mary Ann; children, Jeffrey Johnson of White Bear Lake, MN and Cynthia (Randy) Baker, New Enterprise, PA; grandchildren, Paige (Will) Boone, Justin and Jared Baker, and Jordyn Rice; and great-grandchildren, Emerie, Henry, and Ella.

Following Melvin's wishes, a private burial will take place in Ever-Rest Cemetery, Brule.
