Michael E. Campy, 75, of South Range, died Tuesday, December 13, 2022, at his residence, surrounded by his family.
He was born April 5, 1947, in Bremerton, Washington.
Mike proudly served his country with the U.S. Army in Vietnam until his honorable discharge.
On March 4, 1972, in Superior, Michael E. Campy and Cheryl A. Potter were united in marriage. Twenty-five years later they renewed their vows.
Mike retired as a press operator for Superior Fiber Products.
Anyone who knew Mike knew he loved clothes and hats. The more colorful the better. If they did not match the better. When you think of Mike you not only remember his bright and bold colored clothing you think of his colorful personality and his love for people. He was the definition of 'social butterfly'.
Mike enjoyed his time camping at Twin Bear in Iron River driving his golf cart and being out on the pontoon boat. In his younger years, Mike played baseball and bowled.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Bruno and Vi Campy; and brother, Terry.
In addition to his wife of over 50 years, Cheryl "Cheri" Campy, survivors include daughters, Lisa DeMoure (Darrell) and Kelly Campy Vig (Drew); grandchildren, Michael DeMoure and Chaede Vig; and great-grandchildren, Nevaeh, Aurora and Atlas. Mike will also be very much missed by his little buddy Gizmo.
A celebration of Mike's life will be held on Saturday, January 28, 2023, from Noon until 3:00 p.m. at the Log Cabin Tavern, 2821 County Road E, South Range, WI. Military Honors will be accorded at 3:00 p.m. by the Richard I. Bong American Legion Post #435.
