Michael E. Johnson, 65, of Superior, died Monday May 13, 2024, at Dove Health Care in Superior.

Michael was born in Superior on July 17, 1958, the son of Eugene and Ellen (Savela) Johnson.

He worked many jobs over the years as a laborer until his health declined. He had volunteered for many years with St. Vincent DePaul and the Salvation Army.

Mike loved going fishing with his girlfriend. He was an avid Minnesota Vikings fan and even won a trip to Honolulu for the Pro Bowl. He also enjoyed watching tv.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Kathryn Kammers Johnson and Susan Noack; brother and sister-in-law, Gerald and Janice Johnson; brothers-in-law, Arthur Amys and Robert Kammers; nephews, Timothy Johnson and Erik Schrieffer; niece, Shannon Johnson Hogan; and dear friend, Fritz (Nina's son).

Mike is survived by his sisters, Betty Amys, Sharon Sleeman, and Mary (Leon) Forstrom; significant other, Nina Nelson; longtime friends, Tom Love, Rick White, Carol Jacobson, and Brad Hill; many nieces and nephews; and his beloved cat, Mama.

A Celebration of Mike's Life will be held on Thursday May 23rd from Noon -2:00 p.m. at VIP Pizza, 1201 Tower Avenue Superior.

Private family interment will be in Riverside Cemetery.

If desired, memorials may be made in Mike's name to the Society of St. Vincent de Paul, 1416 Cumming Ave., or the Salvation Army of Superior, 916 Hughitt Ave., Superior, WI 54880.
