Michael J. Holmstrom, 74, of Superior, died Tuesday, September 10, 2024, at Essentia-St. Mary's Hospital in Duluth

Michael was born in Siren, WI on February 12, 1950, the son of Gustav and Ruth (Lewis) Holmstrom. He graduated from Sandstone, MN High school with the class of 1969.

Michael was drafted into the U.S. Navy and served his country in Vietnam. After his service he worked for Globe Elevators and then for Duluth Steam, retiring as a Boiler Operator.

He married Jean Zimmerman on June 26th, 1975 and they celebrated 49 years of marriage.

He enjoyed hunting and fishing and was an avid Green Bay Packer and Milwaukee Brewers Fan. He also enjoyed taking leisure drives around the country.

He was preceded in death by his parents; stepfather, Leroy Abrahamson; and siblings, Wayne and Daryl Holmstrom and Rita Lilienthal.

Michael is survived by his wife Jean; his 5 sons, Shane of Lockport, IL, Jamie (Kim) of St. Cloud, MN, Joe (Amy) of Solon Springs, Adam of Superior, and John (Tiffany Peterson) of Superior; grandchildren, Brayden, Logan, Jacob, Anna (Jake) Hiber, Claire, Will, and Halle; sister, Lee Ann (Donnie) McConkey of Danbury; best friend, Leroy Johnson; and many nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Michael's Life will be announced and held at a later date.
