Michael J. Staurseth, 62, of Superior died, Saturday, January 11, 2020 at Essentia-St. Mary's Hospital in Superior.

Michael was born in Superior on July 31, 1957, the son of Delores (Schultz) and Stephen Staurseth.

He spent 10 years in Zimbabwe where his family did missions work. He enjoyed playing music, especially the ukulele. He had been a caregiver to his wife of 10 years, Michelle. Mike was very generous with his time and was always volunteering to help.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Michelle; and his sister and brother, Ruth Elaine and Timothy Paul.

Michael is survived by his parents, Delores and Steve; brother, Philip (Kerry) Staurseth of Chicago; nieces and nephew Colleen, Caleb (Madeline), and Erin; aunts and uncle, Ed and Rhoda Staurseth, Nancy Staurseth and JoAnn Schultz; and many cousins, with whom he was also very close.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 18 from 11:00 a.m. until the Noon funeral service at First Evangelical Covenant Church, 3311 Hammond Ave. Pastor Carey Vik will officiate.
