Michael George White, 68, lifelong resident of Superior, died Saturday, November 11, 2017 at Essentia Health-St. Mary's Hospital in Duluth.
Michael was born on Nov. 20, 1948, the son of Mary (Lisak) and Wilbur B. White.
He served his country during Vietnam enlisting in the Army. He worked for the Soo Line Rail Road retiring as a conductor. He was a member of the Eagles Club, Polish Club and a lifetime member of the Iron River VFW Post # 10197.
Michael married Corrine Colby on April 17, 1971, and they celebrated 46 years together.
He enjoyed spending time with his dogs, friendships with his railroad co-workers, and was a superior Packer fan. His family was the most important to him. He loved vacationing with his grandchildren and watching his son work as a fueler in the NASCAR Rolex Series.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Frances and Catherine White.
Michael is survived by his wife, Corrine; children, Michael George (Denise Kantarik) White, Jr. of Superior, Christine Marie (Dale Bergman) White-Mallory, of Silver Bay, MN; grandchildren, Teagan Torres, and Tyler and Chase Mallory; sister, Mary Anne White of Viera, FL; many nieces and nephews, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, Nov. 16 from 5-7p.m. at Downs Funeral Home, 1617 N 19 th St. Visitation will resume on Friday, Nov. 17 from 10:00a.m. until the 11:00a.m. Funeral Mass at Cathedral of Christ the King Church with Rev. Fr. Andrew P. Ricci as celebrant.
Pallbearers will be Tyler Mallory, Chase Mallory, Ewald Horst, Dan Horst, Andrew Lisak, and Thomas Lisak.
Burial will be held in the Spring at Greenwood Cemetery Veteran's Memorial Park with Military Honors.
