Mildred Joann 'Peewee' Melloh, 77, of Superior, after a valiant fight with cancer, went to be with the lord surrounded by family on Tuesday, August 24, 2021.

Joann was born in Superior on March 19, 1944, to Dorothy (Hansen) and Camiel Hartshorn. Joann was named after Mildred 'Mickey' Mossberger.

Peewee loved to be outdoors, gardening, and camping. She was an avid Wisconsin sports fan, especially the Packers, Brewers, and Badgers. She enjoyed crafts, such as rosemaling and making Christmas ornaments. She also enjoyed watching fireworks. Most important to her was spending time with family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister and brother-in-law, Jean and Bucky Koukol; nephew, Carl Hartshorn, Jr.; and sister-in-law, Barb Alseth and niece, Karen Alseth.

Joann will be sadly missed by her husband of 60 years, Larry; her children, Larry (Connie) Melloh Jr. of Laona, WI, Richard (Fran) Melloh of Milwaukee, and Sherri Melloh of Superior; grandchildren, Kyle, Sylvia, Nicholas, Harry (Chris), and Jenny; 5 great-grandchildren; siblings, Ernest (Sandy) Hartshorn of Superior, Carl Hartshorn of Oshkosh, WI, Bud (Marge) Hartshorn of Wadena, MN; and Marlene 'Tiny' (Lee) Cooper of Superior; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and her cats.

Visitation will be held on Saturday August 28, from 10:00 a.m. until the Noon funeral service at Downs Funeral Home, 1617 N 19 ^th St., with Gary Banker as officiant. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
