Milo G. Polla, 55 of Superior, passed peacefully Sun. Feb 14, 2010 at St. Luke's Hospital with his wife and daughters by his side.
Milo was born in Hibbing, Minn. on Aug. 14, 1954 the son of Sylvia (Makela) and Art Polla.
He married the former Linda Hasbrouck on July 1, 1978.
Milo worked at Heron Cement in Superior until he had a back injury and became a domestic engineer. He was actively involved in ATV safety. He was a certified ASI Instructor and a DNR Safety Instructor for kids. Milo also served on the Tri-County Recreational Corridor Commission
He was a member of Darrow Road Wesleyan Church and performed jail house ministry at the Douglas County Jail. He loved to mentor and be a friend to those in need. The Lord blessed him with a straight forward attitude and personality people loved. Most important to him was spending time with his family. He especially loved time with his grandchildren.
Milo was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 32 years, Linda; daughters and sons-in-law, Jennifer and Nick Pittsley and Tina and James Anrig all of Superior; grandchildren, Logan Pittsley and Jacob and Landon Anrig; honorary grandchildren, Tucker and Jenna Briggs and Lashawndre; sister Karen (Allen) Skelton of Duluth; brother Michael (Doris) Polla of Garvin, Minn; and many nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held on Thurs. Feb. 18, at 2 p.m. Darrow Rd. Wesleyan Church with Rev. Mark A. Holmes officiating. Visitation will begin one hour prior. Inurnment will be at a later date in Elmer, Minn.
The family would like to give a special thank you to the St. Luke's Cancer Care Center and St. Luke's Hospital for the care they showed Milo and his family.
