Mitchell J. Babic's Obituary
Mitchell J. Babic, 97 of Superior, formerly of Mercer, WI, died Wednesday September 30, 2015 at Villa Marina Health and Rehab.
Mitchell was born in Sandrock, WI the son of Narrie and Michael Babic.
He married the former Jean M. McFarlin in 1945 and they celebrated 39 years of marriage until her death in 1984.
Mitch enjoyed doing many things in life. He was a fishing guide, and a trapper. He was a caretaker and did remodeling jobs. He also loved photography.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife; five brothers, Marvin, George, Vanard, Jack and Gilbert; and four sisters, Clara Allen Alice Watts, Eva Fosdick, and bay sister Maimie Babic.
Mitch is survived by his children, Michele (Michael) De Smet of Superior and Kirk Babic of Superior; two sisters, Marie (Don) Kessler and Thelma Pemble of Mercer and a sister-in-law, Carol Babic, all of Mercer, WI; and many nieces and nephews.
A private family service will be held.
Mitch's family extends a heartfelt thank you to the staff of Villa Marina Rehab in Superior for their care and consideration of Mitch the last few years. Villa had become his home and the staff his extended family.
Downs Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
