Mitchell "Mitch"
G. Lindstrom
December 12, 1961 – March 4, 2026
On March 4th, 2026, our hearts were shattered by the sudden loss of Mitchell Gary Lindstrom at the age of 64. A lifelong Superior resident, Mitch was born on December 12, 1961, to Rhoda (Lind) and Gary Lindstrom. He graduated from Superior High School in 1980 and went on to earn bachelor's degrees in Business Administration and Elementary Education from the University of Wisconsin-Superior. In 1986, he married the love of his life, Wendy, and they began their family shortly thereafter.
He dedicated his professional career to education, obtaining his master's degree, and spent nearly 30 years teaching fifth grade in the Maple School District. Mitch spent his time outside of the classroom coaching his kids in youth sports; including basketball, baseball, football, and softball. His passion for sports and impact on this community will not soon be forgotten.
In retirement, he and Wendy enjoyed spending their time with each other, always plotting the next big adventure on the road.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Mitch is lovingly survived by Wendy, his wife of nearly 40 years; his children, who were his utmost pride and joy: Lindsey (Clay) Sekely of Philadelphia, PA, Austin of Superior, and Jessica of Toulouse, France; his sister, Lisa (Jerry) Gotelaere of Eau Claire, WI, their children Abigail (Chris) Daley of Appleton, WI, Allison (Anna) Cox of Eagan, MN; and his faithful furry companion, Gracie.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Mitch's name to the Douglas County Humane Society.
