Morgan Joan Hendrickson was born September 8, 1994, in Duluth, MN.

Morgan lost her battle with drug addiction on December 21, 2015. She was 21 years young. Morgan is survived by her mother, Heather Hendrickson, her father Dave (Rusty) Wangerin, her loving sister Sydney Hendrickson, her grandparents Mark & Cindy Hendrickson and her uncle Darin (Desiree) Hendrickson, cousins Lilly and Ellie.

She was preceded in death by her dear great uncle Rick McDermott and her great-grandmother Valerie McDermott. Two people that were very important to her.

From the moment Morgan was born she was the center of attention, it was that contagious smile. She was so beautiful and full of personality. She had an amazing sense of humor and would set the mood at any event, and that meant there was going to be fun. She was incredibly intelligent and very intuitive of others feelings. She was sensitive and brave. She adored animals and they adored her, especially her new kitty. Her sister, Sydney, was her everything, she protected and loved her with every inch of her being.

Morgan was absolutely incredible, and then somehow, somewhere life became too hard. We've all been there at one time or another, but this precious soul found comfort in drugs, stinking drugs. She fought hard to conquer her addiction and was working really hard, seeming to be winning the battle. But something, none of us could see, would not allow her freedom from this demon.

Morgan is finally at rest, no longer fighting her ugly battle. Please hold her close in your heart. She was loved by so many.

Visitation will from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, January 1, 2016, at Downs Funeral Home, 1617 N. 19th Street, Superior. The memorial service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, January 2, 2016, at Pilgrim Lutheran Church, 820 Belknap Street, Superior.

Honorary pallbearers will be Darin Hendrickson, Ryan McDermott, Amy Martineau, Richie King, Mike Lawler and Tyler Volby.
