Nancy R.
Adolphson
October 17, 1941 – January 5, 2023
Nancy R. Adolphson, 81, of South Range, died Thursday, January 5, 2023, at her residence.
She was born October 17, 1941, in Superior, daughter of Herbert and Ivaloe (Thompson) Adolphson, the first of ten children.
Nancy's work history included clerical positions at Saratoga Liquors, Northern Liquors, and many years at Century Insurance in Billings Park.
Nancy was blessed with a marvelous memory. Her family and many friends would often ask her questions about the past and she would remember the dates, places, and other details.
Being one of ten children, she was the only girl that enjoyed the barn chores, especially milking the cows. She was an avid reader and a master of crossword puzzles. Gardening was another gift of hers, notably flower gardening. Another passion of hers was collecting butterflies. Of all her interests, her top priority was loving her family.
Nancy was a longtime member of Darrow Road Wesleyan Church, Superior.
Preceding her in death were her parents; siblings, baby sister Kristen, David, Richard and Linda; and brothers-in-law, Gary Berggren and Dan Hoeffling.
She is survived by her daughter, Lisa Adolphson, South Range; sisters, Karen Berggren, Superior, Mary (Ron) Terry, Gordon, and Sue Hoeffling, Kempner, TX; brothers, Paul (Patti) Adolphson, Superior, and John (Chris) Adolphson, Superior; sister-in-law, Stella Adolphson, Lake Nebagamon; several nieces and nephews; and her canine girls, Poppy and Annie.
Visitation will be from 10 until the 11 a.m. service, Saturday, January 14, 2023, at Darrow Road Wesleyan Church, Superior. Pastor John Fleming will officiate.
Committal will be at Greenwood Cemetery, Superior, at a later date.
The family wishes to thank Nancy's two hospice nurses, Natasha and Ann Marie, for their loving care; and Al Butterworth and Downs Funeral Home, for assisting with arrangements.
