Nancy Lach, 90, died Thursday, Sept. 17, 2009, at her daughter Sandee's home, where she had been living during the past year. She now is in heaven with Jesus.
She was born in Superior, Wis. on Sept. 3, 1919, the daughter of Herman and Alma Carlson. She graduated from Central high School in 1936 and from Superior Teachers College in 1938. She taught school in North Dakota and Wisconsin prior to her marriage to Stanley Lach on March 6, 1943.
She worked for many years as a nursing assistant at Saint Joseph Hospital and Billings Park Nursing Home/Colonial Terrace.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1989 and her son Mike in 1999, her parents, her brothers Art Carlson, Leonard Carlson and her sister Doris Sauter.
She is survived by her children Bonnie (Mike) Bulfer, Dona Lach, Toni (Ron) Anderson, Pat (Bob) Radcliff, Susan (Roland) Wood, Mark (Paulette) Lach, Tim Lach, Wendy (Jim) Benton, Sandee (Jeff) Bertiaume; her grandchildren Mike Anderson, Nicole (Brett) Kruger, Jasin (Lynn) Lach, Sunshine Kerr, Brenda (Tom) Miner, Greg Jarvis, April (Troy) Skorich, Matthew Radcliff, Ryanne Wood, Gabe, Hannah, Josiah (Libby), Noah, Lydia, Havilah, Seth, Nathanael, Mary, Magdalena, Esther, Talitha Benton, Rachel (Brad) Littlejohn, Jessica (Reuben) Downey, Jamie, Emily, Lena, Lucas, Henry, Anna Rose, Samuel, Grace Berthiaume; her great-grandchildren, Kylie, Michaela, Madison, Ravi, Alayna, Evan, Faith, Paige, Destiny, P.J., Nathan, Marissa, Kelsey, Joseph, Dylan, Sydney, Soren, Baby Downey (due in December); plus nieces, nephews and many friends.
Visitation will take place at Downs Funeral Home from 5-7 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 20. The funeral service will take place at Our Savior's Lutheran Church at 11 a.m. Monday, Sept. 21.
