Nora May Jones' Obituary
Nora May Jones, 69 of Superior, Wis. died Tuesday, August, 17, 2010 at St. Mary's Hospital in Superior.
Nora was born in Superior on May 6, 1941, the daughter of Nellie (Johnson) and Clarence Hammond.
She worked as a retail manager for Goldfines for many years. She loved to play bingo and was an avid Packer Fan. She enjoyed growing plants and flowers and working in her garden.
Nora was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Paul; and sister-in-law, Patricia "Patsy" Hammond.
She is survived by her four sons, Steven (Sharon) Foix of Calumet, Mich., Alan Foix of Madison, Wis., Arthur Foix of Columbia Heights, Minn., and Gary (Rebecca Alm-Foix) Foix of Superior; grandchildren, Zachary (Rebekah), Nicholas, Alexander, Daniel, Kaytlynn, Breanna, Marques and David; a great-granddaughter, Sarah; brothers, Robert Hammond, Donald (Tayra) Hammond, Kenneth Hammond, Clifford Hammond and Timothy Hammond; a sister, Linda (Albert) Rehrer; special friend and caregiver, Diane Jarvis; her nieces and nephews; and her dog and loyal companion Tyrone.
Her visitation will be held on Thurs., Aug. 19, from 5-7 p.m. in the Downs Funeral Home, corner of 19th St. and Ogden Ave. Visitation will continue on Fri., Aug. 20, from noon until the 1:00 p.m. funeral service at Downs Funeral Home with Rev. H. Duane Aslyn as officiant. Interment will be in Graceland Cemetery.
