Pamela L.
Carlson
September 10, 1946 – July 5, 2025
Pamela "Pam" Louise Carlson, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on July 5, 2025. She was 78 years old.
Born on September 10, 1946, Pam graduated from Duluth East High School in 1964. She went on to work at the Patty Cake Shop and later at Sam's Florist and Miller Trunk Family Dentistry. Pam was a proud lifetime member and volunteer at the American Legion Post 71 and a cherished member of the Red Hat Society.
Throughout her life, she brought her creativity and caring spirit into everything she did. She had a true gift for the arts and crafts, twinning her talents into a small business of antique book creations. From stained glass and painting to sewing, ceramics, wood carving and gardening, there wasn't a creative project she couldn't master.
She is preceded in death by her beloved husband and best friend Dudley Carlson; parents Edward and Betty Stromdahl; and her brothers Jay Stromdahl, Terry Stromdahl, and Mark Stromdahl; sister Casy Stocke.
Pam is survived by her children, Wendy (Randy) Hurst, Alan Carlson, Lorie (Matt) Hughes; her grandchildren, Andrew Carlson, Elyse Hurst, Kristina Carlson, Cayden Carlson, and Luke Hughes; her great aunt and nearest and dearest friend Joan Duff and special cousin Paula (Jim) Engstrom; her sisters Carol (Steve) Johnson and Susie Stromdahl; her brother Brian (Kimberly) Stromdahl; and many nieces and nephews.
We want to extend a special Thank you to the staff at Legacy Medical Hospice, Edgewood Vista and close friends Luanne Taylor and Kathy Riddle, for their extra care and dedication.
Visitation will be held Saturday, July 12th, 2025 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Celebration of Pam's life at 11:00 a.m. and meal to follow at Downs Life Celebration Center, 1902 N 34th St., Superior, WI.
Her life was one of warmth, beauty, and vibrant creativity – a bright sun to those lucky enough to know her. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.
