Patrice R. "Patsy" Zimmerman, 46, of Superior, Wis. died Tuesday, August 3, 2010 in St. Luke's Hospital, Duluth, Minn. after a year and a half battle with Colon Cancer. She was born September 5, 1963 in Superior to Marvin and Frances (Rasmussen) Koski and was a lifelong resident.

Patsy was a 1981 graduate of Superior Senior High School and a 1985 graduate of the University of Wis.-Superior.

On June 8, 1985 she and Robert Zimmerman were united in marriage in Superior. They just celebrated their 25th anniversary.

Patsy was a Neuro Psychological Technician for the Polinsky Medical Rehabilitation Center in Duluth.

She enjoyed gardening and water color painting. She loved the time spent with family and friends at the family cabin in Iron River, Wis. She also liked to go for runs and walks, often times taking her faithful dog, Brutus with her. She completed a triathlon in Hudson Wis. and was very proud of this accomplishment.

Patsy is lovingly remembered by her husband, Robert Zimmerman, Sr.; two sons, Robert "R.J." Zimmerman, Jr. and Ryan Zimmerman both of Superior; her mother, Frances Koski also of Superior; a sister, Pam (Reed) Pearson of Poplar, Wis.; a brother, Terry (Mary) Koski of Colorado Springs, CO.; her nieces and nephews, Katie and Brett Pearson, Sam and Emily Koski, Dan and Carlee Zimmerman, Sarah Sorenson, and Joe, Adam and John Holmstrom; and many wonderful friends, especially her special friend, Catherine Eliason.

She was preceded in death by her father, Marvin Koski; her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Patricia and Richard Zimmerman; and her maternal and paternal grandparents.

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. on Friday in the Downs Funeral Home, corner of 19th St. & Ogden Ave., where her memorial service will be held Saturday at 11:00 a.m. Rev. Stephen Staurseth will officiate. Inurnment will take place at Calvary Cemetery at a later date.

The family would like to thank St. Luke's Hospital and their Oncology Dept. for the care they gave Patsy for the last year and a half.
