Patricia "Patti" A. Kirkwood, 64, of Solon Springs, formerly of Superior, died Thursday, February 11, 2016, at Solvay Hospice House, Duluth, surrounded by her family.

She was born January 8, 1952, in Rochester, Minnesota, daughter of Donald and Helen (Nieman) Nelson.

On March 13, 1971, Patricia Nelson and Gerald Kirkwood were united in marriage.

Patti worked as an administrative assistant for United Health Care, Duluth.

She enjoyed bird feeding and bird watching, traveling, and her greatest love was spending time with her family.

Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Gerald Duane "Jerry" "Chewy" Kirkwood on April 30, 2015; son, Jerry Jay Kirkwood; brothers, Michael and Rick Nelson; and son-in-law, Patrick Daly.

Survivors include her daughters, Joy Daly, Lake Nebagamon, Angel (Brian) Waters, Solon Springs, and Kerri (Steve) Bushman, Superior; grandchildren, Kayla and Devon Daly, Mahlea Waters, and Keagan Lundberg; sister, Sharin (Wayne) Karlstad, Superior; and several special nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 12 until the 1 p.m. service Wednesday, February 17, 2016, at Downs Funeral Home, 1617 N. 19th Street, Superior. Pastor Steve Kelleher will officiate.

Committal prayers will be at Greenwood Cemetery, Superior.
