Patricia D. Arneson, 89, of Superior, died Saturday, December 8, 2018, at Essentia Health-St. Mary's Medical Center, Duluth.

She was born November 3, 1929, in Thorp, Wisconsin, daughter of Eugene and Murl (Schneider) Mitchell.

In addition to being a homemaker and raising 6 children, Pat's work history included the Pop Shoppe, where she and her husband, Leonard, worked as managers. For over 20 years, Pat was a sales clerk at J.C. Penney and also volunteered at The Coffee Nook at Essentia Health St. Mary's Hospital in Superior.

She enjoyed travelling to various parts of the world including Ireland with the St. Francis Travel Club, Alaska with her family, and many other states. She loved playing cards with her friends, especially smear and cribbage, often at the Belgian Club.  Shopping, reading, 4 o'clock happy hour, and quilting were some of her other interests.

Pat's family was the light of her life and she loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.  And she was the light of their life too.  Even through loss, there was always a lot of laughter and love shared with everyone at family dinners and holidays, especially at their favorite Christmas Eve "Po-Ke-No" game night.  She will be dearly missed, but her spirit lives on forever in these moments.

Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Leonard; son, James; daughters, Cindy, Janice and Julie; sons-in-law, Marvin Hickok and Gary Trebil; sister, Maisie Lippett; and Ken and Irene Oliver and Lloyd and Darlene Arneson.

Survivors include her daughters, Wendy Hickok, Superior, and Mindy Trebil, Duluth; daughter-in-law, Mindy Arneson, Superior; son-in-law, Jeff Hill, Blaine, MN; 7 grandchildren, Shannon (Mike) Cousino, Duluth, Shane (Colleen) Hickok, Superior, Todd (Katie) Nelson, Duluth, Christopher (Maia) Hofich, Zumbrota, MN, Cassie (Andy) Caviness, Hoyt, Kansas, Ryan (Kayla) Arneson, Superior, and Brady Arneson, Superior; 12 great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Marvin (Marie) Arneson, Ogama, WI; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 1 until the 2 p.m. service, Saturday, January 19, 2019, at Downs Funeral Home, 1617 N. 19 ^th Street, Superior, with Reverend Darrell Grant officiating.

Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Superior, at a later date.
