Obituary

Patrick Anthony Currie, age 67, of Superior, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side on Thursday, July 17, 2025.

Pat was born on May 21, 1958, in Superior to Phyllis (Lind) and Desmond Currie. He graduated from Superior Senior High in 1976 and proudly served in the United States Marine Corps from 1976 to 1979.

On August 20, 1983, Pat married Charlotte Wrazidlo at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Duluth. He worked as a letter carrier for the U.S. Postal Service for 33 years, serving as the union steward for many years, retiring in 2016.

Pat was enthusiastic about golfing and was a long-time member of the Nemadji Golf Club, playing in both the men's league and the Tuesday Bush Wackers League. He and Charlotte also played in the Pattison Park couple's league since 1982. A Die-Hard Minnesota Vikings fan, Pat loved football, Budweiser, and placing a few side wagers with friends.

He enjoyed volunteering with veterans' activities, including placing flags on graves for Memorial Day. Pat was a kind and generous person who offered his time to many without being asked. He will be remembered for his kind heart and being a solid friend to many. He loved being outside, helping others, and making people laugh. He could  often be  found walking the trails with his dog, Brandi, for coffee time with his dad, Desmond.

Pat was many things to many people- a devoted caregiver, a giver of nicknames, a deer hunter, apple picker, and animal rescuer (3 dogs and 3 cats). He was an avid cribbage player and a big fan of big ball, bowling and broomball. Pat was full of good laughs, shenanigans, a heckler and above all, the fun uncle.

Pat was preceded in death by his mother, Phyllis, and his brother, Thomas.

He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Charlotte; father, Desmond;  sister, Desiree (Tim) Heytens; brother, James (Michelle) Currie, special niece, Megan Currie;  sisters-in-law, Tammy (Rick) Hanson and Kathleen (Cliff) Gableman; brothers-in-law, Frank, Ron, and Edward Wrazidlo; and numerous nieces and nephews.
