Patrick "Pat" D. Walsh, 77 of Superior died Wednesday, March 6, 2024, at his residence.

Pat was born in Superior on Dec. 29, 1946, the son of Donald V. and Patricia L. (Gibson) Walsh.  He graduated from Superior Central High School with the class of 1965 and went on to earn his Bachelor of Science degree from Wisconsin State University – Superior (UWS). He worked as a salesman for various food brokers over the years, retiring from Royal Foods in 2013.

Growing up Pat was an athlete playing baseball and football. One highlight of his childhood was a time when Pat was 11 and he was able to meet and get an autograph and photo with Hank Aaron. Another highlight is that his little league team won the state title in 1959 and were one game away from the Little League World Series. In 1965 he was also a part of the American Legion team that went on to win the state title. Pat went on to play baseball and football at UWS. Throughout his life Pat remained physically fit and enjoyed running marathons and ultra marathons, especially Grandma's Marathon. He would also be on his rowing machine daily.

Most important to him was his family. He always enjoyed watching his sons play hockey.  His grandsons Gibson and Keegan were the loves of his life and he greatly enjoyed traveling to watch them excel at their sports.  He also enjoyed the time spent with his extended family Bonnie brought into his life with grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Gibson Walsh; brother, Todd Walsh; and half-sister, Ann Santana. Pat is survived by his significant other for over 25 years, Bonnie Olson; sons Tyler (Debra) Walsh of Hayward, and Tim (Terri Olsen) Walsh of Superior; grandson, Keegan Walsh of Hayward; sister, Jan Young of Superior; and half-brothers, Tom (Kim) Walsh of Indianapolis, and Don (Tammie) Walsh of Superior.

Visitation will be on Monday, March 18th from 11:00 a.m. until the 1:00 p.m. memorial service at Downs Funeral Home, 1617 N 19th St.
