Paul Randall Buckley, 70, died peacefully on Thursday, August 15, 2024, at Abbott Northwestern Hospital, surrounded by his family.

Paul was born on July 1, 1954, in Superior, the son of Frank Randall and Jane (Hoppmann) Buckley.

On October 11, 1987, Paul married Vikki Jarrett.

He graduated from Superior High School in 1972 and the University of Wisconsin Superior with a Bachelor of Business Degree in 1976.

Paul was employed as a financial advisor for Morgan Stanley (originally EF Hutton) since October of 1986. He had no interest in retiring and said he would die working. He was a mentor to UWS and UMD business students and new co-workers.

He was a staunch supporter of UWS athletics, especially men's hockey and soccer, and received the Outstanding Alumni Award from UWS in 2018. He was a longtime member of United Presbyterian Church (formerly Hammond Avenue Presbyterian Church), as well as a longtime member of the Duluth Yacht Club. Paul enjoyed sailing and sailboat racing and started racing at the age of 16 after learning how to sail on his father's small sailboat. He had an interest in atlases and would bring one out almost every time someone came to the house. He supported local live music, enjoyed skiing and loved to travel, especially internationally with his daughter.

Paul adored and loved his family. He never knew a stranger. He was a great storyteller, and he loved hearing stories of others, especially the international students. He touched so many people and made an impact on so many.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and his father-in-law, Robert Jarrett.

Survivors include his wife, Vikki; daughter, Emma; sister and brother-in-law, Linda and Sandy Dee; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Suzan and Mark Petty; mother-in-law, Donna Jarrett; and nieces, Sara (Brett) Cox and Kristin (Tommy) Ward.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 27th from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Downs Life Celebration Center, 1902 N 34th St., Superior.

Visitation will resume at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 28th until the 11:00 a.m. funeral service at United Presbyterian Church, Superior.
