Paul Ryan
Heaslip
January 18, 1955 – October 4, 2023
Paul Ryan Heaslip, age 68, died peacefully on October 4, 2023, after a good lunch and his usual afternoon nap at his home in Harding, MN. Paul was born to Helen and Paul Heaslip, in Duluth, MN, on January 18, 1955, and was the oldest of 7 children. He attended Esko High School and after a brief time in the Army, Paul was honorably discharged. Paul led a simple life that was riddled with the anguish of Schizophrenia. From a young age, his mind was not his own. Despite his difficult life, Paul loved his family and loved to study God's word. Paul can now walk in heaven with his Lord and Savior whom he loved. As a family, we are happy to know that mental illness no longer defines him and that he is able to think with clarity.
Preceding him in death are his parents, his twin brothers Donald and David who died shortly after birth, his sisters Patricia Heaslip and Susan Suojanen, and his brother Thomas. He is survived by his sister MaryAnn Stariha and many extended family members.
Paul's family will gather to commemorate his life at a graveside ceremony. The family is very grateful to the staff at Harding Place for the compassionate and respectful care they provided Paul over the last 13 years. Paul spoke well of Farrah, Laurie, and Rob, who helped him feel valued.
He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away. Revelation 21:3
But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ, who, by the power that enables him to bring everything under his control, will transform our lowly bodies so that they will be like his glorious body. Philippians 3:20-21
