Peter J. Wiskerchen, 91, of South Range, passed away after a year-long battle with prostate cancer on Wednesday, November 30, 2022, at Keystone Bluffs Assisted Living surrounded by his loving family.

Peter was born in South Range, Wisconsin on October 11, 1931, the son of Peter J. and Mary A. Wiskerchen.

Peter is survived by his three children, Mary (Terry) Noyes of Superior, Steven (Trish) Wiskerchen of Sebastian, Florida, and Sandy (Gordy) Wallgren of Minong; grandchildren, Anita Hudacek, Karen Nevin, Angela Miles, Joseph Piludu, Nicholas Piludu, Vanessa Coerper, Jacklin Wallgren, and Curtis Wallgren; 22 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren.

Peter was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Shirley, as well as his parents and siblings.

He worked in the early years on the railroad and later for 35 years for U.S. Steel in Duluth and Virginia, Minnesota until his retirement.

Peter and Shirley enjoyed camping and fishing, spending time at the cabin in Minong and going to flea markets together. Pete enjoyed spending time with his family, feeding the birds, flower and tomato gardening and just being outdoors. He always amazed his family with his creative problem-solving skills and great sense of humor.

Per Peter's wishes, a private graveside service will be held at Greenwood Cemetery.
