Obituary

Phebe Emma Lane, 88, of Superior, died Tuesday, August 6, 2013, in her granddaughter's loving arms.

Phebe was born July 1, 1925 in Superior, daughter of Reuben and Catherine (Williams)
Trentor. She enjoyed bragging that she was the only one of her siblings to be born in a hospital. She was a gentle kind soul whose family meant everything to her. She was a proud citizen who voted in every election since she was 21. As a long time resident of Billings Park, one could often find Phebe on one of her walks cleaning up her neighborhood. She took a personal responsibility to maintain the cleanliness of the storm drain across from her home. Phebe was an avid bird watcher, nature lover, and life-long learner. She will truly be missed by her family, her neighborhood, and her community.

Preceding her in death were her parents; first husband, Milo Lane, Sr.; son, Milo Lane, Jr.; grandson, Michael Lane; step-daughter, Nancy Johnson; sisters, Esther Sitzenstock and Catherine "Dede" Apple; and brothers, Reuben Trentor and John Trentor.

Survivors include her husband, Henry J. Lane; children, Patricia "Patti" (Thomas) Baker, Battle Lake, MN, Peggy (Rick) Sievi, Minneapolis, MN, Lottie Potter, Superior, Doris Lane, Appleton, WI, Jay (Joey) Lane, Crestview, FL, and Tammi (Marc) Jacobs, Superior; grandchildren, Penny Jo, Billy, Jo Ann, Johnny, Jenny, Becki, Suzi, Kelly, Jessica, Lisa, Sherry, and Bruce; great-grandchildren, Kayla, CJ, Chonesanh, Asia, Jayda, Mady, Abby, Payten, Riley, Brayden, Zac, Dylan, Taya; great-great-grandson, Masen, seven step-children and several step grandchildren and great grandchildren, sisters, Mary (LeRoy) Eilf, Standish, MI, Charlotte Young, Superior, Janice Young, Menomonie, WI; and several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to extend a very special thank you to the kind and loving staff of Essentia Home Hospice.

Visitation will be from 10 until the 11 a.m. service Monday, August 12, 2013 at Downs Funeral Home, 1617 N. 19th Street, Superior, with Reverend Stephen Staurseth officiating.
