SUPERIOR
Philip A. Gustafson, 79, of Superior, formerly of Poplar, died Sunday, November 22, 2009 at St. Francis in the Park Health and Rehabilitation Center, Superior.
He was born January 31, 1930 in Poplar, son of Beda (Faugerstrom) and Carl Gustafson.
Phil was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict.
For many years he worked as a self-employed electrician in the Poplar/Maple/Brule area.
Some of his interests included baseball, golf and bowling. He was a member of the Poplar baseball team during the 1950's.
Preceding him in death were his parents; and sister, Olive Gustafson.
Survivors include his brothers, Howard (Pauline) Gustafson, Dallas, Oregon, and Wilbur (Diane) Gustafson, Hudson, Wis.; sister, Goldye Till, Dallas, Oregon; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m.Wednesday, November 25, 2009 at Poplar Cemetery, Poplar, Wis., with Reverend Darrell Nelson, pastor of Mission Covenant Church officiating. Military rites will be accorded by the combined Thomas F. Stein VFW Post # 1091 and the Richard I. Bong American Legion Post # 435.
