Obituary

Philomena D. Gregorian, 91, most recently of Superior, WI and formerly of Minneapolis, MN and Cocoa Beach, FL, died Friday May 23, 2025, at Dove Healthcare.

Philomena was born in Fairhaven, Massachusetts, on June 18, 1933, the daughter of John and Mary (Calassa) Duarte.

She majored in music at Boston University where she met her future husband, Henry Gregorian. They moved to the Twin Cities for Henry's career with the MN Orchestra. She was very active raising three daughters, working on various committees, and hosting many parties and receptions for visiting musicians including Van Cliburn. Her love for cooking and entertaining continued throughout her life. She had a talent for seeing the bigger picture and enjoyed upgrading and remodeling properties, completing some of the work herself.

Philomena was passionate about real estate and after working many years helping buyers and sellers at Edina Realty in the Twin Cities, she moved to Florida where she continued her career, first at Apollo Realty, then as a broker and property manager at Villages of Seaport in Cape Canaveral.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Philip Duarte; niece, Gertrude; brother-in-law, Dennis Peterson; and sister-in-law, Dolores Duarte.

Philomena is survived by her daughters, Mary Joan Gregorian (Victor Skelley) of Minneapolis, Nikki (Harry) Hadden of Cape Canaveral, FL, and Nairi (Bill) Stack of Superior; grandchildren, Katelyn Skelley, Sheila Skelley (Danny Morris), Marisa Skelley, Zareh (Chloe) Hadden; Willie Stack, Alicia (Robert) Astleford, and Emily Stack (Luke); 7 great grandchildren; brother John Duarte; and sisters, Gertrude August and Joan Peterson.

A private family Celebration of Philomena's life will be held. She was the shining light of our family, and nothing made her happier than being surrounded by loved ones. She will be deeply missed.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Philomena's name to the Duluth Superior Symphony Orchestra, dsso.com/give/ or 506 West Superior St, Suite 7, Duluth, MN 55802.
