Phyllis A. Currie, 84, of Superior, died Tuesday, August 30, 2022, at Solvay Hospice House in Duluth, surrounded by her family.

Phyllis was born in Warba, MN on Nov. 16, 1937, the daughter of Lloyd and Mary (Herring) Lind. She graduated from Superior Central High School with the class of 1956.

She married Desmond 'Des' Currie on Dec. 28, 1957, and they celebrated 64 years of marriage.

Phyllis worked as a Teacher's Assistant for the Superior School District for many years. She was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Superior. Phyllis enjoyed quilting and was a member of the Peaceful Quilters. She also enjoyed decorating and reading. Most important to her was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and son, Thomas Currie.

Phyllis is survived by her husband, Desmond; children, Patrick (Charlotte) Currie of Superior, Desiree (Tim) Heytens of Superior, and son, James (Michelle) Currie of Stevens Point; grandchildren, Megan Currie, Lindsay (Nick) Madryga, Brittany (Kamran) Assemi, Matthew Heytens, Andrew Heytens, and Brady Heytens; and brothers, Ken (Jenny) Lind and Cliff (Nancy) Lind.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, Sept. 6 ^th from 10:00 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Francis Xavier Church, 2316 E 4 ^th St., with Very Rev. James Tobolski as celebrant. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery Veterans Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Essentia Hospice or to Superior School District Special Education Department.
