Phyllis M. Naumann, 87, of Superior, died Wednesday, September 6, 2017, at St. Luke's Hospice in Duluth.
She was born in Duluth on August 29, 1930, the daughter of Carl and Ellen Berg.
She graduated from Denfeld High School in 1949. She worked in Duluth and Minneapolis before marrying in 1955. In addition to raising her children she worked in the kitchen at Blaine School and was a housekeeper at St. Lukes Hospital for many years.
Phyllis was a member of Bayside Baptist Church and the Swedish Society. She enjoyed baking, going to rummage sales, walking, and riding the DTA.
She was known for loving everyone, especially babies. She was famous for her chocolate-chip cookies. Family and friend's birthdays were always remembered by her. She was selfless and always willing to help anyone. There was always room at the table for one more plate. Her giving spirit was an example to all.
She loved her family and time spent with them, especially Sunday dinners and during the holidays.
She is preceded by her parents; and daughter, Sandra M. Johnson on Feb. 11, 2002.
Phyllis is survived by the most wonderful sister in the world, Sue Haver; children, Carol (Donald) Zalusky, Richard (Nancy) Naumann, Sharon (Jeffrey) Carlson, David (Kay) Naumann, and Kurt (Karen) Naumann; step-children, Cindy Dishaw and Ernie (Fran) Naumann; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, extended family and longtime friends.
Her visitation will be on Sat., Sept. 9, from 1:00 p.m. until the 2:00 p.m. funeral service at Bayside Baptist Church. Burial will be in Park Hill Cemetery in Duluth.
Pallbearers will be Ernie Naumann, Rick Naumann, David Naumann, Kurt Naumann, Tim Zalusky, and Josh Carlson.
If desired, donations may be made in Phyllis' name to Bayside Baptist Church or St. Ann's Residence in Duluth.
