Phyllis, E. Wicklund, 80, of Superior, died Friday, March 16, 2018 at the Barnes Care Center in Esko, MN.
Phyllis was born in Maple, WI on Sept. 19, 1937 the daughter of William and Millie Lukkarila. She graduated from Superior Central High School with the class of 1956. She then attended Wanner's School of Beauty Culture.
Phyllis married Ralph Wicklund on Feb. 15, 1958 in Concordia Lutheran Church and they celebrated 52 years of marriage until his death in 2010.
Phyllis had worked for Kresge's, 21st Street Market, and Kmart. She was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church and past president of Cooper School PTA.
She enjoyed family camping trips and traveling. Her favorite place to go was Hawaii, she and Ralph made many trips there over the years. Most important to her was her family especially her boys.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph, and her parents; nephews, Timothy, Stephen and Michael; brothers-in-law, Dennis and John Wicklund; sister-in-law, Marvel Rappley; and mother and father-in-law, Ruby and Emil Wicklund.
Phyllis is survived by her sons, Allan Wicklund of Oklahoma, Thomas (Jen) Wicklund of Duluth, and Randy Wicklund of Duluth; grandchildren, Jessa, Kayla, Adam and Meredith; brothers, Roger (Jeannie) Lukkarila of Coon Rapids, MN, and Clyde (Nancy) Lukkarila of Cloquet; sisters-in-law, Kathy Wicklund and Joanne Wicklund; brothers-in-law, Daniel (Susan) Wicklund and Carl (Sylvia) Wicklund; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be on Friday, March 23, from 10:00 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. funeral service at Downs Funeral Home, 1617 N 19 th St. Pastor Sarah Kerkes of Our Saviors Lutheran Church will officiate. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
The family would like to give a special thank you to Linda from Helping Hands, the staff at Barnes Care Center and granddaughter, Kayla, for the wonderful care they gave Phyllis.
If desired, memorials in Phyllis' name may be made to Our Saviors Lutheran Church.
