Obituary

Ramon L. Goodiel, 87, of Superior, died Sunday, April 27, 2014, at Villa-Marina Health and Rehabilitation Center, Superior.

He was born March 10, 1927, in Conneaut, Ohio, son of Clair and Dorothy Goodiel.

Ramon's work history was sailing the Great Lakes.  He worked on various boats for many companies. He often said, "I never lost a job, the company went out of business". Over the many years, he was a wheelsman, a first, second and third mate, and retired as a watchman.

Some of his interests included reading, dancing, playing pool, cards, watching westerns, and spending time with family.

He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Frances, and son, Gary, as a result of an auto accident; second wife, Dorothy; and brother, Clair Goodiel, Jr.

Survivors include his daughter, Shelley (Jim Faul) Goodiel, Solon Springs, WI; sons, Richard Larsen, Superior, Kenneth (Evie) Goodiel, Gordon, WI, Jimmey (Jamie) Goodiel, Superior, and Gerald (Anne) Goodiel, South Range, WI; 12 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; sister, Doris (Jack) Furry, Florida; and several nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life luncheon will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, May 24, 2014, at Log Cabin, 2821 S. County Road E, South Range.

Inurnment will be in the family lot at Greenwood Cemetery, Superior.
