Bjonskaas
April 10, 1953 – May 25, 2026
Randy L. Bjonskaas, 73, of Davenport, FL passed away on Monday, May 25, 2026, from a 5-month battle with AML Leukemia.
Randy was born on April 10, 1953, and raised in West Duluth, the son of Orlando and Thelma (Covell) Bjonskaas. He graduated from Duluth Denfeld High School with the class of 1971.
He worked for 25 years in liquor sales before owning and operating three tobacco stores in the area retiring in 2016, passing the businesses on to his children.
He married Tammy Locke on April 6, 1999, after 3 years together and recently celebrated 30 years together.
Randy and Tammy built a home in Lake Nebagamon, WI and later in the Del Webb community of Davenport, FL becoming full time residents of Florida in 2024. After retiring they made a plan to visit all 50 states and accomplished that goal when they traveled with friends to Albuquerque, New Mexico for the Balloon Fiesta in October of 2025, completing their map.
Randy enjoyed golfing, woodworking, traveling, watching Sprint Car racing and wine. He had been a volunteer for the Hermantown Volunteer Fire Department.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Randy is survived by his wife Tammy; daughter, Tara Locke; son, Cory (Beth) Locke; grandchildren, Tyler, Tre (Nevaeh), Shelby and Amber; great-grandson, Kingston; brothers, Harvey (Therese) Bjonskaas and Robert (Kathy) Bjonskaas; and nephews, Paul (Lori), Aron, and Bryan (Tammy).
Visitation will be held on Saturday June 27th from 10:00 until the 11:00 funeral service at Downs Life Celebration Center, 1902 N 34th St. with Gary Banker officiating.
If desired, memorials in Randy’s name may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project or to St. Jude’s Hospital, www.stjude.org.
