Raymond F. Belanger, 87, of Superior, passed away Saturday, March 7, 2020, peacefully at his home.

He was born in Bayfield, WI, on March 3, 1933, the son of John and Sadie Belanger.

Ray honorably served with the United States Army.

He worked for the railroad, JC Penney and retired as a collection's manager for Superior Choice Credit Union.

Ray enjoyed golfing with family and friends.  He was active in the Waterfront Bowling League, softball, in his younger years, and playing cribbage and smear, when he reached his senior years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Sadie; his loving wife and best friend, Betty; infant twins; and brothers, Frank, Walter, and Leo.

Ray is survived by his daughters, Nancy (Michael) Ward and Susan (Steven) Leino, both of Superior; sons, Richard (Robyn) Belanger of Siren, WI, and Donald Belanger of Grand Rapids, MN; grandchildren, Mark, Blake, Heidi, Samantha, Brett, Christopher, Sara, Nichole, and Cory; and several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be on Thursday, March 12, at 10:00 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. funeral mass at Holy Assumption Catholic Church.

Military honors will follow the mass at the church accorded by the Richard I Bong American Legion Post #435.
