Raymond D. Tollers, 73, of Duluth and formerly of Superior, died Thursday, February 20, 2020 at North Memorial Hospital in Robbinsdale, MN.
Ray was born in Superior on Feb. 15, 1947 the son of Lorraine (Olson) and Raymond W. Tollers. He graduated from Superior East High School with the class of 1965.
He had worked for International Multi Foods for 18 years, spent 5 years sailing on the Great Lakes and until retirement had been a counselor and clinical supervisor at the Recovery Center. Ray was a member of Alcoholics Anonymous since 1986. He was also a member of the Baha'i organization in Duluth.
Ray married Michele Fitzgerald on August 5, 1995 at Gooseberry Falls. He enjoyed bowling and spending time with his grandkids.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Ray is survived by his wife, Michele; children, Raymond W. (Toni) Tollers, Danielle (Nick) Lavato, Matt (Missy) Tollers, Tayler Tollers, and Chandler Tollers; grandchildren, Nash, Craig, Chase, Gabby, and Coral; brothers and sisters, Linda (Doug) Engsminger, Terry (Sue) Tollers, Steve (Sandy) Tollers, Dennis Tollers, and Wendy (Neil) Fairbanks; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, Feb 27 th from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. at Downs Funeral Home, 1617 N 19 th Street. Visitation will resume on Friday, Feb 28 th from 10:00 until the 11:00 a.m. Funeral Mass at Cathedral of Christ The King Church. Rev. Fr. Andrew Ricci will celebrate.
Pallbearers will be his grandchildren.
