Raymond T. Tokarczyk, 84, of Superior, Wis. died Sun., Jan. 30, 2011 at Villa Marina Health and Rehabilitation Center.
Ray was born on Sept. 7, 1926 in Minnesota. He served his country in the Navy during WWII.
He was a steamfitter for Stack Brothers Plumbing. He was a lifetime member of the Steamfitter's Union Local #11.
Ray enjoyed woodworking and the outdoors, especially deer hunting. He loved spending time at their cabin on Persons Lake.
He was a loving husband and father and will be remembered as a kind, hardworking and honest man. He will be deeply missed.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Bill; four brothers, Walt, Joe, Ed and George; and a sister, Stella.
Ray is survived by his wife, Doris; a daughter, Linda (Ken) Sorensen of Show Low, Ariz.; grandchildren, Debbie (Bryan) Miller of Chandler, Ariz., Amy (Alex) Rodriguez of Tucson, Ariz. and Bill Brouse of Duluth, Minn.; great-grandchildren, Erin, Emily, Andrew, Ashley, Billy and Jenny; two brothers, Anthony and Jim (Donna) Tokarczyk; and many nieces and nephews.
His funeral service will be held on Sat., Feb. 5th at 1:00 p.m. at Downs Funeral Home, corner of 19th St. and Ogden Ave. Visitation will begin one hour prior. Rev. Alan Schroeder, Pastor of Calvary Baptist Church, will officiate. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery with Military Honors accorded by the Richard I. Bong American Legion Post #435.
Pallbearers will be Dennis Vanderport, Jim Mertes, and Ken, Kim, Kris and Kerry Sorensen.
