Obituary

Regina Ester Nelson, 94, a lifelong resident of Superior, Wis. died Thurs., Mar. 24, 2011 in the Golden Living Center.

She was born Nov. 30, 1916 to Mary (Lys) and John Zowin.

Her memberships included St. Francis Xavier Church and its Alter Society, East End Seniors Citizens and the National Catholic Order of Foresters.

She enjoyed knitting and crocheting, baking, playing cards and bingo, and working in her flower garden.

Regina is survived by three children, Gerald and Ronald Nelson of Minneapolis, Minn. and Nancy M. Goodin of Dunnellon, Fla.; six grandchildren, Dan, Aaron and Joel Nelson, Mike Goodin, Michelle Innes and Tim Goodin; thirteen great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mary Glonek of Superior.

She was preceded in death by her husband of seventy-one years, Gail A.; two sisters, Agnes Illka and Anne Penny; and two sisters-in-law, Eileen Nelson and Delores Doyle.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wed. at 10:30 a.m. in St. Francis Xavier Church with Rev. Fr. James Tobolski as the Celebrant. The visitation will begin one hour prior. Committal prayers will take place at St. Francis Cemetery.

Downs Funeral Home, corner of 19th St. and Ogden Ave, is assisting the family with arrangements.
