Renae Ann (Staurseth) Avestruz, age 66 of Poplar, Wisconsin died peacefully on December 17, 2021 after a long and courageous battle with cancer.

Renae was born in Superior Wisconsin on April 9th, 1955.

She was preceded in death by her father Robert Staurseth and brother Gary Staurseth.

Renae is survived by her loving son and daughter-in-law Anthony and Destanie Avestruz and her two grandsons Dekker and Jaxon who were the light of her life. Renae is also survived by her mother, Nancy Staurseth; siblings, Brad (Jan) Staurseth, Cheryl (Jeff) Eliason, Brenda Staurseth, and Laurie (Dan) Porch as well as many nieces and nephews who adored their aunt Renae.

When Renae was faced with grave illness, she consistently stated "I know where I'm going". Celebration of her life and homegoing will be at Lakeside Baptist Church, 3176 Middle River Rd. South Range, WI 54874 on January 7th at 3:00 pm. Memorials preferred to the Anthony Barr Foundation "Raise the Barr" (raise the barr.org/giving) which supports education for single parent students and their children.
