Rhoda Marie (Keller) Nielsen, 84, passed away peacefully surrounded by family in her home on July 4, 2018.  She was born November 24, 1933 to Orval and Ione Keller in Hawthorne, Wisconsin.  She married Lloyd Nielsen on June 11, 1955.

Rhoda retired from Holden Insurance Agency after many years of service as a bookkeeper.  She also served as director for Douglas County Credit Union.  She was an active member and deacon at United Presbyterian Church.  She enjoyed traveling, golfing, visiting nursing homes to help the "old" people, going to Curves, casino trips with Pat and spending time with her family.

She is survived by her daughters – Deb (Dave) Hansen, Donna (Ron) Hazzard, Diane (Richard) Bye, and her bonus daughter, Pat Kelly.  Her grandchildren – Shawn (Scott) Eastman, Rita Hansen, Jason (Nicole) Hansen, Lisa (Tim) Walsh, Lori (Scott) Williamson, Kasey (Russell) Winters, Danielle Norkunas and Troy (Kristina) Bye.  She had 17 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.  All of her nieces and nephews were very special to her and she had many special friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd Nielsen; her parents, Orval Keller and Ione Klarstrom; her brother, Ralph and his wife Dee Keller; her sister, Flo Larson; and also Chris Kennedy.

Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday, July 8, 2018, at Downs Funeral Home, 1617 N. 19 ^th Street, Superior.  The service will be at 11 a.m. Monday, July 9 ^th at United Presbyterian Church, 229 N. 28 ^th Street, Superior, with Reverend Charlotte Frantz officiating.

Rhoda's grandchildren will be her honorary pallbearers.

Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery, Superior.

She has requested that memorials be made to United Presbyterian Church.
